Learning Resource Centre (LRC), home of the library services, is the heart of the Academic Centre. With an aim of providing "Anytime, Anywhere access" to information, the LRC contributes and supports ISB in building an internationally top ranked research driven management institution by establishing a knowledge hub.
Surrounded by lecture theaters and classrooms, the visually pleasing unique spiral design makes it an extension of the classroom environment. The LRC holds literature predominantly related to management and its allied subjects and aims to develop a comprehensive collection of information resources that are useful for academic and research purposes. The LRC plays a proactive role to ensure that the information resources are acquired and organised to meet the present and future needs of its users.
The centre has utilised Information Technology extensively to ensure that resources are accessible from anywhere at anytime. Services such as OPAC for checking online availability and reserving online, remote access to e-resources and databases make the LRC user friendly. The e-resources and online databases available are among the best in the academic circle. The LRC aims to be the best Resource Centre in Asia by 2005 and one of the best in the world by 2010.
LRC holds a hybrid collection of printed as well electronic resources which include books, journals, databases, audio-visuals, CDs/DVDs, e-books, e-journals, reports, case studies, conference proceedings, training manuals, etc. Currently the LRC has over 25, 000 books, 360 print journals, access to 39 online databases including access to over 2000 e-journals and additionally 1000 AV resources.
